Yashasvi Jaiswal has raised new injury concerns for Team India as he was compelled to retire hurt after scoring a century in the 3rd Test.

Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved his third Test century on Day 3 of the Rajkot Test against England, but the celebration was short-lived. Shortly after reaching the century, the Indian batsman complained of lower back pain. The team physio attended to him while captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid expressed concern in the dressing room. Despite showing stellar form, Jaiswal was forced to retire hurt due to persistent pain. Before his departure, he displayed an impressive Test approach, transitioning to an aggressive stance. However, his celebration leap after the century raised speculation about its connection to the sudden onset of lower back discomfort. Commentators Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar suggested the possibility. Jaiswal received physio attention, leading to a delay in play, but eventually, he had to leave the field, receiving a standing ovation from the crowd and teammates. Rajat Patidar replaced him but was dismissed for a ten-ball duck.
